North West Adventure – Outdoor Education Centre

Outdoor Sport & Recreation QQI Level 5 PLC course is the first step to becoming an Outdoor Activity Instructor.   Outdoor Instructor Training Sligo is full time.‘   With a QQI level 5 award students can apply to do a degree course through the CAO/CAS higher education link system.

Grants are available for those who are eligible in PLC Post  Leaving Certificate Grant and Back To Education.  Leaving Certificate not needed.  Just a good interest in Adventure Sports and an an ability

In addition to the QQI  level 5 award, the course is run, assessed and awarded according to the  National Governing Body guidelines of each sport.  These awards are internationally recognised.

Carlingford Adventure Centre have offered 10 days work experience  at their Centre to the Students on this course.  Accommodation and Food provided.     T & C apply.

Mountain Skills Training & Assessment

North West Adventure – Outdoor Education Centre  provides Mountain Skills

Training & Assessment as per NationalGoverning Body Syllabus & Guidelines –

Mountaineering Ireland.  This course trains and assesses you how to stay safe

in the Irish Mountains.  It is a pre requisite to register for Mountain Leader training.

Kayak & Canoe Training

It is possible on this course to train and become a qualified Kayak & Canoe Level 1 Instructor.  You can discuss the details with your instructor by ringing the number below.

 

 

 

 

 

Pool Roll Work Shops

Outdoor Instructor Training QQI Level 5  provides Kayak Roll Work shops Winter training held in the pool to improve your skills in the kayak and the eskimo roll.

Students are taught the importance of Communication, Motivation, Support and Inclusivity, During this training Course the students learn the skills to become a Team – to Work as a Team and eventually to become a Team Leader.

Outdoor Instructor Training Sligo is full time.‘   With a FETAC level 5 award students can apply to do a degree course through the CAO/CAS higher education link system.

Grants are available for those who are eligible in PLC Grant and Back To Education.
