North West Adventure – Outdoor Education Centre
Outdoor Sport & Recreation Training is the first step to becoming an Outdoor Adventure Instructor. Outdoor Instructor Training Certified by National Governing Body of Mountaineering Ireland & Canoe Association of Northern Ireland.
The courses are run, assessed and awarded according to the National Governing Body guidelines of each sport. These awards are internationally recognised.

Mountain Skills 1 & 2 Training
North West Adventure – Outdoor Education Centre provides Mountain Skills
Training as per NationalGoverning Body Syllabus & Guidelines –
Mountaineering Ireland. This course trains and assesses you how to stay safe
in the Irish Mountains. It is a pre requisite to register for Mountain Leader training.
Kayak & Canoe Training
It is possible on this course to train and become a qualified Kayak & Canoe Level 1 Instructor. You can discuss the details with your instructor by ringing the number below.
Pool Roll Work Shops
Instructor Training provides Kayak Roll Work shops Winter training held in the pool to improve your skills in the kayak and the eskimo roll.

Kayak Canoe Instructor Training & Assessment
White Water Rafting is the most exciting & popular team adventure activity.
White water rafting is the number one safest coolest way of taking a group of novices down our mighty ‘Boyle’ river.
The mighty ‘Boyle’ river is full of natural features, drops & rapids. As a grade II river it is suitable for beginners. You won’t be staring death in the face but you are Guaranteed lots of fun!
We have 2 runs every day 9am & 2pm. Booking is essential. Call now to book or email to check availability.
White Water Rafting is Seasonal and can only be done when the river is full. Usually between November & March. It is best to ring or email and check 1 week before you book to be sure the water level is up.

We can’t guarantee water levels so it is best to ring or email 1 week before making a booking and check the water levels are up first. All WhiteWater Rafting is depending on the water levels being high. Terms & Conditions must be read and signed before a booking can be confirmed.
International Rafting Federation.
North West Adventure are the first in the Republic of Ireland to run International Rafting Federation Training and Assessment courses! Our Trainer has Rafted all over the World. He has great skill and has passed this on to our Guides. We now have 4 Qualified Raft Guides at North West Adventure Centre.
The Rafts
The rafts are made of toughened durable Polyurethane Plastic. They have several compartments for air, so in the unlikely event that one should burst all the others stay up. The floor is inflatable too. It is self bailing. They are a beautiful boat built for Fun!
All our instructors are in house trained over one year. We are passionate about what we do and it shows. We are lucky to have this fabulous natural river on our door step. During the rainy season you can’t get us off the river. If we are not in rafts or kayaks we’ll be in canoes! We’re always messing about on the river! You could call us ‘River Rats’!
